Bring Your Interior to Life with Decorative Polished Plaster
Not inspired by the idea of classic wall paint? Are you looking for something more original and elegant? Polished plaster could be exactly what you need. Our range includes a wide variety of decorative finishes that can transform your home into a unique and visually captivating space. Our colleague Martin Augusta will be happy to help you choose the perfect finish for your interior.
Martin, what types of polished plaster do we offer?
We offer a wide selection of finishes with different textures and visual effects. Some of the most popular include Granite, Pitted, Perlata, and Venetian polished plaster.
Those are beautiful names—but what should people imagine when they hear them?
Granite polished plaster is a very distinctive and expressive textured finish. It works beautifully around fireplaces, in living rooms, or in entry halls.

Pitted polished plaster, on the other hand, could be described as a finer and more subtle version of Granite. The surface still has a texture, but it is softer and surprisingly smooth to the touch. The colour palette is almost unlimited, which is true for most of the decorative finishes we offer.

Many clients also ask about shimmering or metallic colours. Do we have finishes that can achieve this effect?
For subtle shimmer, Perlata polished plaster is a great choice. It contains fine pearlescent particles that create a delicate glow when the surface is illuminated. Metallic effects are also possible with many of our other finishes—such as Granite or Pitted—by using metallic base coats. This can give the surface the appearance of materials like copper or lead.

Are there polished plasters that imitate natural stone?
Yes. One example from our range is Travertine polished plaster, which in natural shades closely resembles the appearance of this stone.

Can polished plaster also include graphic elements or patterns?
Yes, most of the finishes we offer allow this. It is especially popular with Imitace betonu® or Betonepox®. Clients often choose graphic elements for spaces such as bedrooms or living rooms. Companies sometimes incorporate their logo, company name, or motto. In fact, we are able to transfer almost any motif into the surface according to the client’s wishes.

We have mentioned several interesting finishes. Where are they typically used?
Most of these are decorative interior wall finishes. They can also be used in kitchens, where we apply a protective lacquer to shield the surface from splashing oil and mechanical damage. This protective layer also makes the surface easier to clean. However, these decorative finishes are not intended for direct use in bathrooms. For those spaces, we offer other solutions.
Which finishes can be used in bathrooms?
For bathrooms and other high-demand areas, we offer special epoxy finishes called Betonepox®. These surfaces are extremely hard and highly resistant to water. Currently, there is no other material or technology on the market that combines comparable durability with such strong design possibilities.
Can Betonepox® also be applied to floors?
Absolutely. Betonepox® can be applied not only on floors but also on staircases. One of the advantages of using this finish on floors is that it can be applied across a large continuous surface, with expansion joints cut afterward if needed. Our current record application of Betonepox® is 700 m² in a single continuous area.
Many people come with inspiration from Pinterest where they have seen polished plaster used on furniture. Is that something we can do as well?
Yes. Betonepox® can also be applied to furniture. In fact, most of our finishes can also be used on so-called “hidden doors,” allowing them to visually blend into the wall.

If a client wants polished plaster applied to furniture, do they need to prepare it in any special way?
Not really. The most important thing is that the furniture must be stable and free from bending or structural weaknesses.
Do you have any final advice?
I recommend arranging a visit to our showroom, where you can see the finishes on larger surfaces and experience them by touch. And most importantly—don’t hesitate to ask questions. No question is a bad one. We are here to guide you and explain everything you need to know.
Did you think polished plaster had to be only grey and concrete-like? As you can see, it can come in many colours and beautiful textures. Now it’s simply a matter of choosing the one that will bring your home to life.
Get in touch with us and visit one of our showrooms in Prague or Brno. We will welcome you with great coffee and an inspiring tour.
